Event details

This is the second event in the Connecting Minds Book Club series organised by Expo City Dubai in collaboration with the Emirates Literature Foundation. Connecting Minds Book Club brings together book lovers who are passionate about climate and sustainability issues and a lineup of authors from around the world who are telling powerful stories to inspire awareness and action for our changing climate. It is another milestone in our journey of centring climate-conscious storytelling in the UAE’s Year of Sustainability and as part of the lead up to COP28, which will be held at Expo City Dubai. Featuring award-winning architect, author and scientist Dr Sandra Piesik and her landmark book, Habitat: Vernacular Architecture for a Changing Climate, the session will be a substantive and far-reaching conversation on what it means to build in harmony with nature.

The conversation will be moderated by award-winning urbanist Rashid bin Shabib. This will be followed by an audience Q&A, and a book signing session with Dr Sandra Piesik.
