Expo City Dubai is proud host of COP28
The Emirates Climate Conference with the UNFCCC

Supporting global climate change mitigation
30 November to 12 December 2023
What is COP28?
COP28 UAE, the 28th session of the UNFCCC's Conference of the Parties, continues the ongoing efforts to address climate change. As we reach the halfway mark between the Paris Agreement and the year 2030, it is crucial to respond to the facts. With 7 years remaining, our focus must be on reducing emissions by 43% and making necessary adjustments in adaptation, finance, and addressing loss and damage.

COP28 UAE, hosted at Expo City Dubai, will have two zones

Green Zone
The Green Zone is a platform to promote dialogue and awareness about climate action and is open to non-accredited delegates, including youth groups, civil society, NGOs, the private sector, indigenous groups and the general public.

Expo City ongoing initiatives
Expo Young Stars
- Youth also take centre stage in the return of Expo Young Stars on 24 and 25 November at Al Wasl, where students will express their thoughts and present an interpretation of climate issues through sustainability-themed performances. The performances are open to the public, and attendance is free of charge.
Reflections on Climate Change
- These events will be followed by the ‘Reflections on Climate Change’ exhibition, inviting visitors to learn about the history and goals of COPs, the components of the crisis, and initiatives in place to maintain hope for the future. Dates for the exhibition will be announced at a later stage.
Changemakers Challenge
- A joint initiative of the Expo School Programme, HP and Innov8 Tech Education Services, the Changemakers Challenge called on girl innovators aged between nine and 15 years to find solutions to real-world problems that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
